What does it take to work for Groome Industrial Service Group?
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial surface preparation and coating applications
- Proven experience with abrasive blasting, hand tool cleaning, power-tool cleaning, pressure washing, and other industrial surface preparation methods
- Experience applying industrial coatings using brush, roller, and airless spray equipment
- Ability to read and understand coating specifications, product data sheets, and jobsite requirements
- Ability to work safely at heights and around moving industrial equipment
- Strong understanding of proper surface preparation, coating application, dry film thickness, recoat windows, and general industrial painting practices
- Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
- Must be able to obtain required credentials for access to the Port of Miami
- Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, night shifts, and overtime if required.
- Must have acceptable ID, pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Possession of a TWIC card is a plus but not a requirement.
- Must understand verbal and written instructions.
- Must be able to read and write.
- Must have basic math skills.

- Ability to lift, push or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- Able to withstand 70 psi of back pressure.
- May reach above shoulder height and below the waist frequently.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend, on occasion.
- Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
- Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects frequently.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift doing hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
