- Ensuring safety and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees
- Facilitates maintenance work requests from production floor, determines priority and ensures coworkers are aware of priority and assignments
- Ensures team members comply with all safety and good Manufacturing Practices
- Communicates to production, maintenance management, and quality assurance equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs
- Confers with vendors, management, engineering and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment
- Conducts meetings at the end of each shift to update incoming maintenance personnel on status of break downs, repairs, and troubleshooting done during the previous shift.
- Conducts meeting at start of shift to go over shift priorities and assignments as well as training.
- Actively participates in preventive/predictive maintenance processes.
- Tests and adjusts equipment to meet performance specifications.
- Initiates purchase orders for parts and machines.
- Leads inventory control
- Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of maintenance policies and procedures.
- This is a hands on position, carrying out maintenance work along with the team and setting a high example in your work.

Job Summary
Non-supervisory role to assist and provide effective communications for maintenance team, reporting to Maintenance Manager.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Tools, materials, methods and practices used in mechanical maintenance related to production equipment.
- PLC experience a plus
- Ability to read and interpret schematics ( electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic )
- Operation of power and manual tools.
- Operation of light and heavy equipment.
- Ability to work 12 hours shifts in a continuous manufacturing operation.
Education/Experience
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or craft training program.
- 2-5 years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance function.
- 2-5 years’ previous industrial/manufacturing experience.
- 2-5 years’ electrical control’s experience
- 1-2 years previous leadership experience ( small team )
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Software
- Light Microsoft office suite experience
