Education & Experience

Associate's degree (or higher) in Health Physics, Radiation Protection, or a related science. OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND documented completion of a formal, recognized HPT qualification program (e.g., U.S. Navy ELT, ANSI/ANS-3.1 commercial nuclear qualification, or DOE-HDBK-1122 program). OR Current certification by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT).
OR High School Diploma (or equivalent) AND documented completion of a formal, recognized HPT qualification program (e.g., U.S. Navy ELT, ANSI/ANS-3.1 commercial nuclear qualification, or DOE-HDBK-1122 program).
OR Current certification by the National Registry of Radiation Protection Technologists (NRRPT).
Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in performing radiological surveys for alpha, beta, gamma, and neutron radiation. Proficiency in performing contamination (smear/swipe) surveys. Proficiency in the operation of portable health physics instruments (ion chambers, GM frisker-meters, air samplers). Strong understanding of 10 CFR 835 principles (Contamination control, Posting, ALARA, RWPs).
Proficiency in performing radiological surveys for alpha, beta, gamma, and neutron radiation.
Proficiency in performing contamination (smear/swipe) surveys.
Proficiency in the operation of portable health physics instruments (ion chambers, GM frisker-meters, air samplers).
Strong understanding of 10 CFR 835 principles (Contamination control, Posting, ALARA, RWPs).
Flexibility: Ability to relocate to Utah for operations with potential for travel to Head Quarters in LA.
