What You’ll Do
- Supervise and direct snowplow crews during snow and ice events
- Monitor weather conditions and help plan response efforts
- Assign routes and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently
- Operate snowplow trucks or other equipment when needed
- Oversee salt/brine applications and equipment inspections
- Maintain basic reports and ensure safety compliance
Qualifications
- Must be 18 or older.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and have a clean driving record — no serious violations or multiple accidents within the past 5 years.
- Valid CDL Class A or B (preferred)
- Pass a DOT drug screen, and MVR review.
- Be willing to travel to snow locations and stay for the duration of the event (hotel, travel time, and per diem paid by DCS).
- 2+ years of snow removal experience; leadership experience a plus.
- Must attend an 8-hour in-person snow training before the season starts.
- Work is needed, depending on winter weather events determined by VDOT.

- $35+/hour pay rate
