What You'll Do
- Inspect structural steel fabrication, welds, materials, and coatings for quality and specification compliance.
- Verify work against AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, AISC, and other applicable standards.
- Check incoming materials, parts, and welding consumables for conformance.
- Identify and document materials and inspection results according to established procedures.
- Maintain QC logs, inspection records, and related documentation.
- Calibrate and maintain welding equipment and inspection tools.
- Support welder qualification, testing, and certification activities.
- Assist with training involving welding, fitting, and quality requirements.
- Maintain drawing control and other quality-related processes.
- Work directly with production and management to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
- Participate in continuous improvement and training activities.
- Promote safe work practices throughout the fabrication operation.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of structural steel fabrication experience.
- Previous quality control, inspection, or manufacturing experience.
- Working knowledge of AWS D1.1, AWS D1.5, and AISC standards.
- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and specifications.
- Experience using inspection and measuring equipment, including: Fillet weld gauges V-WAC gauges Squares Tape measures Other standard QC inspection tools Able to work independently with limited supervision. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and workplace safety.

Nice to Have
- Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
- Experience with nondestructive testing (NDT), including: Ultrasonic Testing (UT) Magnetic Particle Testing (MT) Penetrant Testing (PT) Additional certifications involving structural steel fabrication, bolting, coatings, or welding inspection. Previous experience in a steel manufacturing or fabrication environment.

Position Summary
We are looking for a Quality Control Inspector with structural steel fabrication experience to help verify the quality of steel components, welding, materials, and coatings. This is a hands-on shop-floor position focused on inspection, documentation, code compliance, and working with production teams to address quality issues.
Work Environment
- Primarily based on the production floor with limited office work.
- Active manufacturing environment.
- Non-climate-controlled facility with exposure to changing temperatures.
- Requires frequent standing, walking, and inspection of materials throughout the shift.
