Candidates who do not meet the Education requirement, may be considered if they have more relevant work experience than the position requires. - High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass physical and drug screen
- Experience in the interpretation of plans and specifications in the construction of infrastructure projects
- Experience with measuring and inspecting HMAC and Concrete pavement and underground utilities
- MS Access, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat Pro skills
- Reviews plans and specifications for the assigned projects prior to measurement and warranty inspection
- Observes work during progress and upon completion. Ensures that safety procedures are followed
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal, management, and communication skills, with a proven ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing to both internal City staff and the development community
- Completes construction project measurements, prepares daily quantity calculations including plan markups, drawings, spreadsheets, and pictures
- Resolves quantity differences in the contractor’s pay estimates with project inspectors and contractors
- Coordinates with other employees and contractors on large projects that require traffic control and surveying
- Completes Warranty Inspections with contractors and other employees to ensure that any defects in workmanship or materials are corrected before the release of maintenance bonds
