EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED
- One-year minimum experience with heavy equipment/diesel experience
- May be currently enrolled in a heavy equipment/diesel program
- Certification or degree from accredited trade program strongly preferred.
- Must demonstrate customer service skills.
- Must have experience using electronic devices such as laptops tablets, smart phones, and cell phone applications.
- Must have a valid California Class C driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- Must read, write and speak English fluently.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Determines condition of equipment by preforming all inspections of both incoming (off rental) equipment and outgoing (on rental) equipment inspections to include visual, safety, and proper operation of the equipment.
- Completes reports as requested by entering the required amounts of fuel and Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) required to properly refill the tanks.
- Performs regular service and preventive maintenance tasks on equipment to keep in safe, dependable operating condition ensuring proper operations and the removal of parts and attachments.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers to increase overall customer satisfaction
- Continually updates product knowledge needed to work on new models.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains shop tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Cleans equipment by operating wash rack steam cleaner and high-pressure washer.
- Contributes to a team effort by accomplishing duties needed.
- Tools will be provided by the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Walking and moving about on foot often up and down equipment and stairs.
- Handling: Works with hands.
- Lifting: Raises or lowers parts weighing up to 60lbs, with frequent exertion.
- Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
- Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
- Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
- Vision: Reads paperwork, files, and records on the computer.
- Talking: Communicates via telecommunications and in person.
- Sitting: Sits at desk. Sits for minimal periods of time.
