The employee plans assigned repair projects, organizes daily work, supervises mechanics and mechanic helpers, performs journey-level repairs, inspects completed work, and ensures compliance with safety requirements and the New York State Motor Vehicle Inspection Code. The role operates under the general supervision of the Motor Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, with considerable independence in planning and overseeing day-to-day work. The position is assigned to a later or evening shift.
