What You’ll Do

Drive buses in heavy or light city and highway traffic, in all conditions, and following all rules and regulations in a productive and timely manner
Safely and courteously, operate lift-equipped vehicles to transport elderly and/or disabled persons
Learn the fundamentals of SAM by Via operations and related safety procedures
Perform the routine operation of agency vehicles

Possess good knowledge of the city
Able to follow written and verbal instruction
Able to operate a bus within standard safety guidelines to ensure public safety
Able to deal effectively and courteously with all customers and the public
Hold a valid SD driver’s license; Class B CDL with passenger and air brake endorsement is a plus. We can train you to obtain one.
Able to pass a pre-employment physical
Pass a drug screening and background check: no felonies, clean MVR, no DUI/DWI or reckless driving convictions, and no more than 2 speeding tickets
At least 25 years old
Able to apply in person at the Sioux Area Metro office
Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
Salary Range: Starting at $22.50/hour during training/probation with increases up to $25.00
Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, 401K with up to 6% company match, holiday pay, vacation, and bonus days
