Responsibilities (include but are not limited to)

  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial HVAC&R systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Read and interpret commercial blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot BAS/DDC systems, including pneumatic and digital controls.
  • Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
  • Support boiler, chiller, and stationary equipment operations as required.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including EPA standards.
  • Communicate system conditions, repair needs, and corrective actions to facility staff and non-technical personnel.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and reports.
  • Perform duties in confined spaces, on rooftops, and in varying environmental conditions.
  • Maintain professionalism and reliability while working in a government and high-security environment.

Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Security Clearance Ability to obtain and maintain access to a secure government installation at Fort Belvoir, VA

  • Education and Certifications EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (mandatory) NATE, DC3, NIULPE, or state-specific HVAC licensing (highly preferred) Stationary Engineer License (highly preferred) Boiler Operator License (highly preferred)

  • Experience 3–5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC&R service Proficiency in reading and interpreting commercial blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics Strong understanding of BAS/DDC systems, including pneumatic and digital controls
  • 3–5+ years of experience in commercial or industrial HVAC&R service
