PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Must have and maintain an IMSA Level 2 or higher certification.
- Have or obtain CDL within 60 days after hire.
- Supervises a 4 person crew of technicians, electricians, operators, apprentices, and / or skilled laborers.
- Has strong expertise in all aspects of trade related materials, components, equipment, systems, methods of installations, safety procedures, safe work practices, basic calculations, blueprint and drawing interpretation, and trouble shooting.
- Operates any hand tools, power tools, and equipment necessary to perform all trade associated assignments.
- Can effectively communicate with peers, crew, project supervision, and other trades.
- Completes multi-task assignments involving all aspects of the trade via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, schematics, one line diagrams, and blueprint reference.
- Identifies all tools and materials needed for assignment.
- Perform assignment lay-outs and preparation for installation via verbal and written instructions, field sketches, schematics, one line diagrams, and blueprint reference.
- Directs, monitors, and works alongside employees delegated to assist him/her to ensure a safe and timely completion of assignment.
- Instructs assisting employees in the correct operation of tools and equipment, safe work practices, electrical principles, and applicable NEC.
- Adds or modifies circuits, timers, and relays; rewires controllers as needed.
- Accurate completion of all assignment-related paperwork.
- Adjusts and repairs complex traffic control systems including computerized masters, controllers, detectors and related equipment; installs and adjusts controllers.
- Conducts field tests on solid state electronic and other traffic control equipment (controllers, master computers, detectors, auxiliary devices) by checking circuits, output and equipment operation using electronic test equipment and hand tools (volt-ohm meter, oscilloscope, signal generator, controller test board, etc.) to detect and isolate malfunctions in the equipment and/or to determine whether all functions adhere to equipment specifications.
- Driving and operating a bucket truck and construction equipment as required.
- Reports the technical status of the system with accuracy and completeness.
- Performing emergency repairs to restore equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.

The position requires
- Possibility of traveling out of town for up to 14 days.
- Working in extreme weather conditions and elements, indoor or outdoor, including heat, cold, rain, mud, dust and snow depending on the job location.
- Working in and around restricted/confined spaces, manholes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics, clean-rooms, raised metal floors or excavations.
- Working on or around slippery or uneven surfaces.
- Working in or around ditches, trenches and excavations.
- Working in and around exposures typical of a heavy construction site.
- Working from various heights of up to 120β via ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, and other safe work platforms/areas.
