- Stand up the Unicoat service department
- Hire, onboard, and develop a team of service technicians and field leads within the first 90 days
- Build the operational infrastructure: scheduling workflows, work order processes, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Establish vendor and supplier relationships for materials and equipment
- Manage day-to-day scheduling and dispatching for all service crews, coordinating surface prep, application windows, and weather-dependent work
- Conduct pre-job inspections, in-progress quality checks, and post-job walkthroughs to verify workmanship standards
- Ensure accurate, complete job documentation: photos, warranty paperwork, SDS compliance records, and work order closeout
- Own the service P&L: manage labor, materials, and equipment costs
- Monitor material yield and coverage rates
- Drive service revenue at or exceeding budget in the first year of division launch
- Track billable utilization across the team
- Lead with a safety-first culture
- Achieve and maintain zero OSHA recordables or violations
- Conduct regular toolbox talks, safety audits, and incident reviews
- Serve as the primary point of contact for service customers
- Handle escalations, warranty callbacks, and quality issues with speed and professionalism
- Ensure mobilization is scheduled within 48 hours of service request; 90% of work orders completed within quoted scope and timeline
- Represent Unicoat on-site and in customer conversations with strong energy and a customer-first mindset
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years in operations leadership within commercial or industrial roofing, coatings, waterproofing, or related building envelope services
- Proven track record of delivering gross margin through disciplined cost control across labor, materials, and equipment
- Experience managing chemical safety programs: SDS, PPE protocols, respiratory protection, and HAP compliance
- History of building or scaling service teams, including hiring, onboarding, and developing field applicators
- Experience with quality control systems: pre-job inspections, in-progress checks, and warranty documentation
- Proficiency with a field service management platform
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable in front of customers and crews alike
- Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record required
- Familiarity with commercial or industrial roofing systems, in addition to coatings
- OSHA-30 Certification
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
