- Provides training and support to the maintenance team on Swing shift.
- Installs power supply, wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
- Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between programmable controls, machines and equipment.
- Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as programmable controllers, transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
- Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors, and positions sensing devices.
- Diagnoses, repairs and/or replaces faulty electronic components.
- Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors.
- Operate and adjust machinery as directed to achieve desired line flow.
- Assume personal responsibility for assigned tasks with respect to the timeliness and quality of work.
- Perform troubleshooting, repair, removal, installation, disassembly and assembly; variable frequency drives, programmable controller hardware, data highway, recorders, operate interface device, standalone controller, valve positioners, metal detectors, electronic scale, transducer.
- Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and participating on the training committee to appraise performance / review relevant course curriculum and resolving problems.
- Troubleshoots and modifies PLC’s, controls, meters, and sensor hardware.
- Reads and understands electrical schematics and ladder logic.
- Adheres to all applicable GMP policies and guidelines.
- Assists in the identification of design enhancements to improve equipment reliability while working with vendors and engineering to implement these changes.
- Practices lock out/tag out safety procedures and utilizes Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adheres to all food safety and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and guidelines.
- Documents work accurately and timely in the CMMS, as required, to meet all policies and procedures.
- Assists in the installation of new machinery and equipment.
- Reports broken/inoperable/unsafe equipment to the shift supervisor, Maintenance Manager, and/or Plant Engineer and takes immediate corrective action as appropriate.
- Maintains ongoing necessary/required training, certifications, and education.
- Comply with company rules and policies including GMP’s and PPE, and adherence to SOPs
- Assist supervisors in after-hours maintenance calls as needed.
- Maintains work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
