Required Qualifications
The following are considered assets but are not required:
- No previous construction experience required but it will be an asset – entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
- Must be willing and able to work a 4 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational schedule at a remote site in Nunavut.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and general holidays as operationally required.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to work safely both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive physical tasks.
- Must be comfortable working indoors and outdoors in changing and potentially extreme northern weather conditions.
- WHMIS certification or willingness to obtain prior to or during onboarding.
- Willingness to complete all required company and site-specific training.
- Must meet all client and project site-access requirements.
- Previous construction, general labour, maintenance, or industrial experience.
- Previous experience working at a remote camp, mine, construction site
- Experience using basic hand or power tools.
- WHMIS certification.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- CSTS or other construction safety training.
- Experience working in northern or Arctic environments.
- Previous experience working with diverse teams, including Indigenous and Inuit employees and communities.

Physical Demands
Working Conditions
- Ability to work and reside in a remote northern camp for extended rotational periods.
- Regular walking throughout camp facilities and operational areas.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, sitting, and employee interaction.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including extreme northern weather.
- Ability to travel by aircraft and/or ground transportation to remote project locations.
- Ability to safely navigate camp facilities, stairs, uneven surfaces, and outdoor areas and weather conditions as required.
- Project-based role with primary work performed at a remote camp in Nunavut.
- Fly-in/fly-out arrangement from designated travel hubs.
- Shared or designated camp accommodations and meals provided while on site.
- Rotational schedule, which may include extended periods away from home.
- Work may include weekdays, evenings, weekends, and general holidays depending on operational and employee needs.
- Regular interaction with employees working multiple shifts and schedules.
- Exposure to extreme northern weather, including cold, wind, snow, and seasonal variations in daylight.
- Travel may be impacted by weather or other northern logistical conditions.
- Must comply with all Dexterra and client health, safety, security, and operational requirements.
