Required Qualifications
- Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards
- Must be able to work from structures at different heights, including but not limited to ladders, aerial lifts, steel grating if required to perform technical work in the field to ensure safety, reliability and environmental compliance.
- Must be able to report to various worksites.
- Must be able to drive/operate a company maintenance vehicle.
- Must be available for emergencies and overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on telephone.
Nice to Have
- Experience in Substation maintenance and construction preferred.
- Previous electric utility substation experience highly desirable.
- Computer program application skills are preferred.
Required
- Understanding of mechanical concepts and good mechanical skills.
- Able to read and understand the following: electrical one-lines, schematic and wiring diagrams; technical manuals and instruction books; mechanical and civil construction drawings.
- Knowledge of Substation and Transmission safety and standard work procedures required.
- Knowledgeable in MS Office skills.
- Dependable and reliable, and able to work as a member of a team.
- Self-motivated with ability to make decisions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to meet Company driving standards, including a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CDL and/or DOT Medical Card.
- Will be required to pass all required Safety/Compliance courses related to substation entry, LOTO, etc.
