FIELD ASSESSMENT & RISK MANAGEMENT
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, plan reviews, and field observations to identify unsafe conditions, program gaps, and opportunities to apply best practices
- Visit job sites as needed prior to work being awarded to assess safety concerns, access conditions, and anticipated hazards
- Provide ongoing field support after work is awarded and during active service and project execution
- Follow through on corrective actions to ensure timely completion and effectiveness
- Assess and support work involving fall protection, electrical hazards, rigging and lifting, confined space entry, and other high-risk activities
COACHING, AUTHORITY & FIELD PRESENCE
- Coach and mentor associates at all levels on safe work practices, hazard identification, and risk management
- Actively engage with associates to build positive working relationships while consistently upholding safety standards
- Correct unsafe behaviors and conditions in real time, including stopping work when necessary to address dangerous situations
- Clearly explain safety expectations and corrective actions, particularly when serious hazards exist
INCIDENT RESPONSE, LEARNING & CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
- Serve as a point of contact for associates to raise safety concerns, questions, or emerging field issues
- Be available, as needed, outside of normal business hours to respond to safety incidents, urgent concerns, or high-risk conditions
- Provide on-call support for incident response, investigation initiation, and immediate risk mitigation
- Accompany associates to medical facilities following work-related injuries when required to support proper care, documentation, and incident management
- Conduct incident and near-miss investigations with a focus on understanding root causes and identifying effective corrective and preventive actions
- Lead when appropriate and participate in post-incident learning events, reviews, and safety stand-downs to reinforce lessons learned, share findings with the EHS team and associates, and prevent recurrence
- Track trends and recurring hazards to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide hands-on support for inspections, investigations, incident and claims management, and overall safety program administration consistent with business goals
TRAINING, DOCUMENTATION & ACCOUNTABILITY
- Deliver a wide variety of safety training for associates, including service and project teams
- Provide driver safety and driving behavior training when requested
- Maintain accurate documentation of inspections, observations, corrective actions, and daily activities
- Track and document daily field activities using electronic safety systems and mobile tools
- Supply training completion to the EHS Coordinator to support accurate and up-to-date safety training records across all locations
COLLABORATION & TEAM ENGAGEMENT
- Work cooperatively with associates, supervisors, project managers, operations personnel, customers, and the EHS team to plan and execute safety-related actions
- Serve as a trusted safety advisor who balances operational needs with effective risk management

- Follow all company safety programs and report any non-compliance to Parts Administrative Supervisor
- Notify Parts Administrative Supervisor or Safety Manager of any unsafe conditions
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of 5 years of safety or EHS experience in construction, mechanical, industrial, or service environments
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and applicable state safety regulations
- Demonstrated strength in construction safety, including fall protection, electrical safety, rigging and lifting, and confined space work
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the EHS team and cross-functional groups
- Strong communication, influencing, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to coach, correct, and exercise stop-work authority when necessary
CERTIFICATIONS
- OSHA 30 required
- OSHA 500 or OSHA 501 required, or must be eligible and willing to obtain
- CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety credentials preferred
- Ability to obtain and maintain First Aid/CPR and other required safety or instructor certifications
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Regular standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in active job sites
- Ability to travel frequently and work in varying indoor and outdoor environments
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to wear required PPE, including daily arc-rated flame-resistant (AR FR) clothing
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Field-based role with work performed at active job sites, customer locations, and from a company-provided work truck
- When not in the field, work is performed from a company office located in Raleigh or Wilmington, NC
- Frequent exposure to service and construction environments, including mechanical rooms and outdoor locations
- Exposure to weather conditions, noise, vibration, moving mechanical parts, electrical hazards, and industrial equipment
- Ability to conduct assessments at heights, on ladders, and in elevated or confined spaces
