Proper set-up of painting equipment, including preparing parts for proper application
Apply primers to the manufacturer's specifications
Inspect spray guns and replace worn parts
Perform color changes, reclaims, and spray to waste
Perform all housekeeping duties
Dispose of excess materials within their proper areas
Move material using forklifts and overhead cranes
Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge and ability to distinguish different types of materials
Knowledge of proper setup of painting equipment
Knowledge of proper use of an airless and conventional sprayer
Knowledge of SSPC
Ability to read and understand blueprints
Ability to operate forklift, overhead crane, and tractor-trailer
Ability to apply concepts of introductory algebra and geometry to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percent, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to troubleshoot spray booths for problems
Ability to mix, thin, and apply Alkyds, Latex, Zinc Rich, Epoxies (to include Ultra High Solids), and Urethane coatings
