Job Summary: Responsible for maintaining presses, folders, stitchers, cutters, mailing machines and all other equipment in building, both electrically and mechanically Duties/Responsibilities: Troubleshoot all problems with production equipment and take measures to solve problems Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals and understand functionality of the various electrical components. Responsible for wiring all new/used equipment and building wiring Perform preventive maintenance on all electrical components in plant Has a working knowledge of the principles of relay logic and control circuits and can troubleshoot and maintain components. Perform work to ensure procedures are within safety and electrical codes Inform co-workers of precautions and equipment Troubleshoot problems with security and phone systems Install new phones, lines and communication cables Follow all required safety procedures such as PPE, ergonomics, chemical hazards, etc. Perform job in a manner that protects the health and safety of all employees Prompt and regular attendance Basic Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED Minimum 10 years in the trade Familiarity with industrial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code Proven work experience as a Maintenance Electrician Excellent verbal and written communication skills Desired Skills and Abilities: Vocation/technical certification Prior experience of five years in printing press equipment and/or book binding equipment Physical Requirements: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job Mandatory hearing protection while in the production area of the plant Work is performed in all areas of the plant, exposing worker to all departments Working Conditions Full-face protection is required when welding Will experience temperature extremes, depending on what work is being performed and whether work is performed outside or inside Chemical exposure is high because, even though they may not necessarily be working with chemicals, they are around them constantly Exposure to several varieties of electrical and mechanical hazards throughout the plant, depending on the task at hand Work with a variety of items, including wood, metal and plastic Extreme dust conditions exist when working in the Bailer Room Lifting a minimum of 25 lbs. Required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes: safety glasses/goggles, protective gloves for metal work, cold weather and chemical exposure; respirator protection and fall protection Standing approximately 80% +/- of the workday Working with a variety of energy sources such as electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, chemical and thermal
